I. Abashidze Main Scientific Editorial Office of the Georgian Encyclopedia presents the electronic version of the Encyclopedia Georgia. Currently, the materials of 5 volumes of the mentioned publication (letters “A” – “M”), approximately 14,000 articles, are published on the website.
The Encyclopedia Georgia provides the reader with diverse information about Georgia and Georgians, all important facts and figures, as well as about foreigners and world-historical events that have left a deep mark on the centuries-old history of the country.
Encyclopedia Georgia is based on the information and data, in particular, twelve-volumes of the first Georgian Soviet Encyclopedia and other encyclopedic editions prepared by the editorial office (Tbilisi, Description of the Monuments of History and Culture of Georgia (6 books), Georgian Language, Tbilisi. Streets, Avenues, Squares), texts and scientific studies by famous Georgian scientists and scholars over a dozen years. The Editorial Office of the Encyclopedia is constantly working on updating texts and adding new information.
