Arveladze Shota

Shota Arveladze (b. February 22, 1973, Tbilisi) is a football player, coach. He is the best goal scorer of the Georgian national team of all time (60 matches, 26 goals); Dutch champion (1998) and two-time cup winner (1998, 1999) when he played for AFC Ajax; Two-time champion of Scotland (2003; 2005) and two-time cup winner (2002; 2003) when he played for Glasgow Rangers. Winner of the Turkish Cup (1995) when he played for Trabzonspor. Five-time champion of Georgia (1991–1995) and four-time cup winner (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995) when he played for FC Dinamo Tbilisi. He was the top goal-scorer of the Süper Lig (1996).

He started his career in Martve Tbilisi (1990–1991; 30 matches, 33 goals), then played for FC Dinamo Tbilisi (1991–1995; 75 matches, 62 goals), Trabzonspor (1995–1997; 72 matches, 46 goals), AFC Ajax (1997–2001; 96 matches, 55 goals), Rangers FC (2001–2005; 95 matches, 44 goals), AZ Alkmaar (2005–2007; 60 matches, 36 goals), Levante UD (2007–2008; 4 matches). He was Georgian Footballer of the Year in 1994, 1998, 2007. He showed the best result among the players of the former USSR with goals scored in European clubs (265).

On June 3, 2008, Arveladze retired from football after the match held at the Boris Paitchadze National Stadium in Tbilisi. In this match, the team of Arveladze's friends, led by Louis van Gaal and featuring many stars, beat the Georgian team with a score 9:6.

Arveladze started his coaching career in 2008 in AZ Alkmaar as Louis van Gaal's assistant. He was the head coach of such Turkish clubs as Kayserispor (2010–2012), Kasımpaşa (2012–2015), Trabzonspor (2015), as well as Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. (2016–2017), Pakhtakor FC (2017–2020), Hull City A.F.C. (2022), Head Coach of Fatih Karagümrük (2023-2024).
