Krasnov Andrei (1862–1915), Russian botanist and geographer. Born in Petersburg. In 1889 – 1911 he was employed as a professor of the Kharkov University. A. Krasnov was the author of research works on modern vegetation of Central Asia, Northern Hemisphere, tea-growing subtropical regions of Asia and thier historical development. He was one of the pioneers of introducing tea and citrus cultures into the Caucasus. He was the initiator of laying out of Batumi botanical garden. Andrei Krasnov died in Tbilisi. He was burried in the Batumi botanical garden.
