Zmitrok Biadula (real name and surname – Samuil Jafimavič Płaŭnik) (b. April 23, 1886, Pasadziec, Minsk Region – d. November 3, 1941, buried near Uralsk) was a Belarusian writer.
He was a member of the literary associations “Maladnyak” and “Uzvyshsha”. He published his first works of fiction in 1910. He was in Georgia (Gagra) from January to April 1926, and he created the poetic cycle “Caucasus” and short stories based on his impressions. The works Islam-Bey, In the Mountains were the first poetic and prosaic works in Belarusian literature, in which Georgian reality was reflected. Biadula was an impeccable master of describing Georgian nature. The Georgian national character is relatively poorly reflected in his works.
