Bogvi Treasure

Bogvi Treasure — a treasure of bronze objects from the second half of the 1st century AD. It was discovered in 1924 in the village of Bogvi (Tetritskaro Municipality). The treasure included a silver bowl with two handles, a strainer, a spoon, a spoon-fork, a bronze jug, a ladle, a silver plated copper spoon and a Parthian silver drachma of Phraates IV.

Some of the items of the treasure are similar to those found in luxurious tombs of the 1st-3rd centuries in Georgia (Bori, Ureki, Zghuderi, Samtavro, Bagineti, Aghaiani, etc.). The Bogvi treasure is of great importance for studying Kvemo Kartli region in late antiquity.
