Anton Friedrich Büsching (b. September 27, 1724, Stadthagen – d. May 28, 1793, Berlin) was a German geographer and theologian.
For years he collected material for his work Erdebeschreibung and published 11 volumes in Hamburg in 1754–1792. This work is devoted to the study of the Caucasus, the Ottoman Empire, as well as the customs and traditions of the Georgians.
There is also information about the Georgians in his work Different Countries of Asia (Book XI). He published information about the peoples of the Caucasus and in particular, about the Georgians in journals Magazin für die Historie und Geographie der neueren Zeit (Hamb. –Halle, 1767 – 88) and Wöchentliche Nachritchen von neuen Landkarten, geogr.-statistischen und historischen Büchern (B., 1773 – 87).
