Louis Granger (17th century) was a French missionary and a member of the Jesuit Order.
In 1614, with the support of the French ambassador working in Istanbul, he set out for Samegrelo to spread Catholicism.
In a 1615 he sent a travel report to Claudio Acquaviva, the Superior General of the Society of Jesus. In it he describes the ethnic composition of the Black Sea coastal population from Istanbul to Guria and the languages spoken by the people at that time.
The report also details his meetings with the rulers of Guria and Samegrelo and the topics discussed with local feudal and ecclesiastical aristocracy during those encounters.
He also describes a meeting with King Teimuraz I of Kakheti who was in western Georgia at that time. Granger refers to him as “Tabriz-Khan.”
