Vladimir Gutsaev (b. December 21, 1952, Tbilisi) is a retired football player (striker), Honored Master of Sport of the USSR (1981).

He graduated from Tbilisi State University (1976). In 1971–1986, he played for FC Dinamo Tbilisi. His achievements include winning the USSR championship (1978), silver medal (1977) and 3 bronze medals (1971, 1976, 1981) in the USSR Championships, silver medal in the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR (1983), the USSR Cup two times (1976, 1979), the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1981) (scorer of the goal in the final match) and European championship among youth (1976).

He played: 303 matches in the USSR Championships (47 goals), 45 matches in the USSR Cup (10 goals), 89 matches in international matches (18 goals), including 34 matches in European club tournaments (8 goals). He played 11 matches (1 goal) for the USSR national football team.

Gutsaev was named among the best 33 players six times. In 1987–1990, he was the head coach of the FC Dinamo Tbilisi, in 1991–1994 – the manager and head coach of the Cypriot Anorthosis Famagusta FC , in 1995 – the general manager of the FC Alania Vladikavkaz, in 1996–1997 – the head coach of the Georgia national under-21 football team (Georgia U21), in 1998–1999 – the head coach of the Georgian national team, in 1999–2000 – the head coach of the FC Alania Vladikavkaz.

In 2004–2008 – a member of the Parliament of Georgia.

He is a Cavalier of the Order of Honor (2001).
