At the beginning of his carrier, he worked in Odessa. In 1846 Viceroy M. Vorontsov invited G. Scudieri to Tbilisi and put him in charge of the duties of Tbilisi city architect. As of 1847, he filled the position of an architect of the Quarantine Department of Viceroy’s Office. Former Bridge of Vorontsov aka Mikail Bridge (present-day Chugureti Bridge), so called Dry Bridge, buildings of drama theater and caravansary on Paskevich-Erivansky Square (current Freedom Square) were built according to G. Scudieri’s design. He reconstructed or built the mosque at the botanical garden. He was the author of a number of projects of residential buildings; unfortunately, none of them has survived. His contemporaries viewed G. Scudieri as a promoter of ‘Italian style’ in city architecture.
