Zia Pasha Tavdgiridze

Tavdgiridze, Zia Pasha (1870, Kobuleti – 1940, Üsküdar), Ottoman military commander (Lieutenant General). His father served as the Governor of Hejaz. He graduated from military school and the military academy, subsequently holding various positions. In 1907, he was promoted to the military rank of Major General. He was an active participant in the Balkan Wars (1912–13) and World War I (1914–18). He served as the Minister of Trade and Agriculture. From 1920–22, he served as the Minister of War (Harbiye Nazırı) within the government of Izzet Pasha. He is buried at the Karacaahmet Cemetery in Istanbul.
