Tavdgiridze, Mahmud Pasha [1864, Churuk-su (Kobuleti) – 31. VII. 1931], Ottoman military commander (Lieutenant General). He graduated from the Kuleli Military School (Istanbul) and served in the Ottoman General Staff. He commanded the 5th Infantry Brigade stationed in Damascus (Syria). In 1894, he established a shelter for Georgian refugees within his home. He participated in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897, the Italo-Turkish War (1911–12), and the Balkan Wars (1912–13), during which he commanded the 2nd and 3rd Infantry Brigades.
In 1909, Tavdgiridze made a financial contribution toward the jubilee celebrations for A. Tsereteli and the establishment of a Georgian library. In 1920, he was arrested and exiled to Malta. He is buried at the Karacaahmet Cemetery in Istanbul.
