Tavdgiridze Osman Pasha

Tavdgiridze, Osman Pasha (1837, Ozurgeti – 1909, Istanbul), was the governor of Lower Ajaria in the mid-19th century. A direct descendant of the Tavdgiridze nobles of Kobuleti, he was known as "Osman Pasha the Ajarian." He participated in both the Crimean (1853–56) and the Russo-Ottoman Wars (1877–78). In 1858, he relocated to Trabzon, where he served as the Governor of Trabzon. Later, he moved to Istanbul, where he died in 1909. He was married to a Georgian woman, Nokta, with whom he had five sons and one daughter.
