Zenon of Ikalto, one of the Thirteen Assyrian Fathers, who came to Georgia from Antioch in the middle of the 6th century with his teacher John of Zedazeni. He lived first in the Zedazeni Monastery, and then in the Ikalto Monastery he founded himself. He is buried there. The work of Zenon of Ikalto contributed to the strengthening of the Christian Church in Kakheti. No writings describing his life have been preserved. Zenon of Ikalto is mentioned in The Life of John of Zedazeni. He is considered a saint and is commemorated on May 7 (20).
