Zytsar Yuri

Yuri Zytsar (b. April 14, 1928, Makushino, Kurgan Oblast – d. June 23, 2009, Saint Petersburg), Russian linguist.

He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Foreign Languages ​​(1950). In 1955, he defended his candidate's dissertation on the Basque language. Zytsar taught at the universities of Oryol and Samara; he worked at Tbilisi State University. He published monographs and scientific works. Zytsar's scientific research field was the Basque language, its reconstruction, and typological research issues of Basque and Iberian-Caucasian languages.
