Eugène Cavaignac (August 19, 1876 – January 11, 1969, Paris) was a French historian and Hittitologist. He served as a professor of ancient history at the University of Strasbourg and the Catholic Institute of Paris. Cavaignac authored numerous works on the history of the ancient world and was the editor-in-chief of the multi-volume publication History of the World (Histoire du monde, Vols. 1–8, Paris, 1924–48). Several volumes dedicated to ancient history were authored by him. He considered the Mushki, who appeared in Upper Mesopotamia during the 12th century BC, to have migrated from the southwestern provinces of historical Georgia.
