Nodar P. Akhalkatsi (2 January 1938, Tbilisi–25 January 1998, Tbilisi) was a football player and coach.
In 1977, he became Master of Sport of the USSR, and in 1981, he became an honored coach. He started playing football at Tbilisi “Junior Dinamo” in 1955. He also played in Tbilisi ASK (1957–59) and “Locomotive” (1960–66).
In 1967, he started coaching. Between 1971 and 1974, he was head of the football department at the Georgian Sports Committee. Between 1974 and 1975, he headed Tbilisi "Dinamo,” and in 1976–83, he was a head coach.
Under his coaching, his team won gold (1978), silver (1977), and three bronze medals (Spring 1976, Autumn 1976, and 1981) USSR championships and acquired the USSR Cup twice.
In 1981, he won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. During the 1982 World Cup in Spain, he was one of the coaches for the USSR team. Between 1985 and 1986, he was the Tbilisi “Dinamo” head coach. In 1990, he became president of the Georgian Football Federation.
