Archeological monuments of Ardisubani

Archeological monuments of Ardisubani are monuments of different times and categories in the village of Ardisubani, Tetritskaro Municipality.

During the archaeological excavations (led by N. Tushishvili), the following items were discovered: 1. The remains of the early Bronze Age (4th–3rd millennium BC) settlement. Numerous archaeological materials (hand-mill, flint sickle blades, yellow-pink and pink-coated polished black ceramic wares, and others); 2. Early Bronze Age (early 3rd millennium BC) crypt in which a male and a female were buried. Dark grey clay jar, a jug with one handle, bone spindle weight and sling were buried with them. It should be noted that the cracked areas of the jug were plastered with tar. It was the earliest case of using tar in the territory of Georgia; 3. Middle Bronze Age (first half of 2nd millennium BC) flat grave in which a woman was buried. Variously decorated (polished, scratched ornament) pottery, bronze needles, gold, carnelian and paste beads; 4. Early Hellenistic (2nd half of 4th century — 3rd century BC) necropolis. Three stone coffins and a flat grave of a horse were excavated. Clay jugs and different kinds of vials, gold temple rings, silver, bronze and iron rings, bracelets, bells, belt buckles, spearheads, dagger, curved knives were found in the stone coffins. The horse was harnessed with an iron two-piece bridle, bronze buckles and rings; 5. As a result of reconnaissance, medieval monuments were traced in the territory of Ardisubani  — necropolis, deserted village, a forge for melting metal.
